Introduction
The Department of Environmental Sciences was founded in October 2007 as part of the Faculty of Natural Resources by admitting 40 students in the field of Environment Science. In October 2008, the department was authorized to establish MSc programs in three different subfields of Environmental Science (Biodiversity and Natural Habitat Management, Land Use Planning and Environmental Impact Assessment, and Environmental Pollution). Based on the approved strategic development plan of the Department of Environmental Sciences, attempts were made to extend the educational and research activities toward international collaboration with all the relevant universities in the region through admission of PhD students via exchange programs, co-authorship of research, and establishment of interdisciplinary programs to meet the needs of the real world for a better future.
